Church Camp 2009
Our annual church camp, although surrounded by the tragic events of John George and Gae Heald's passing, was a success. During our time away we remembered those who could not be there and were encouraged by the fact that the theme of the camp was something that was close to John's heart. In our teaching sessions throughout camp we discussed church unity and how we are called to maintain this unity in our differences of personality, age, culture, and gifts. There was vibrant discussion on these issues in small groups as we looked at practical ways to maintain the unity in the midst of the diversity we have at St Margaret's. It wasn't all work however and we enjoyed some fun activities, good food and plenty of time just hanging out with the church family. It was a beautiful location and we even enjoyed some sun on the Sunday morning. The camp was a success because people really did pull together in all aspects of the camp especially duties! The sense of unity could be felt throughout the weekend and thanks to all for making this happen!
