Children at St Margaret's

As a church we desire children and young people to participate alongside adults in worship. The Sunday 10.15am service is particularly aimed at involving all ages, with children playing a vital active role in the service.

We recognize the need for Christian education for children that is pitched at their age level. To enable this to happen, we hold a children's programme, Grow in Faith, between the Sunday morning services.

There are also special children's events held throughout the year, and children in years 4-8 at school are encouraged to attend the holiday camps, run by Church Army - Adventure Ministries, in January, April and October every year.

Grow in Faith

Grow in Faith meets at 9.15am on Sundays during school terms. It is a Christian education programme which includes biblical teaching, prayer, singing, games and fellowship with each other.

The first Sunday of each term is a fun event for all the kids together. For the remaining weeks of the term, everyone meets together for singing, birthday celebrations and prayer at 9.15am in the crypt, before moving into different classes for their age group:
3-6 years in the Crypt;
7-12 years in the Crypt.

Each session finishes with morning tea at 10.10am, enabling the children to have a break before going to the 10.15am family service.

Adults are encouraged to attend the study and discussion group which meets in the lounge during this time. The topic revolves around the Bible readings for that Sunday or another topic of special interest.
